Soft Errs is a
temporary sound installation that was first realized in an
empty storefront. The work filled the acoustic vacuum left
by defunct consumer electronics stores in Lower Manhattan,
and attempted to explore the invisible shape and language
of private and public audio electronics. A store as signal
chain was assembled with pocket radios, a low power radio
transmitter, analog synthesizer modules, malfunctioning CD
players, and the live recitation of electronic messages
using radiophonic code.
